<h3>Minimum qualifications:</h3><ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.<br></li> <li>12 years of experience in design, construction and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical distribution systems, including air and water side systems.</li> <li>12 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.</li> <li>Experience in mechanical infrastructure.</li> <li>Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time as required.</li> </ul><h3>Preferred qualifications:</h3><ul> <li>Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field.</li> <li>Professional engineering license.</li> <li>Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of mechanical cooling plants, fire suppression systems, fuel oil systems, domestic water systems, and sanitary sewer systems in mission critical environment.</li> <li>Experience in designing complex modular building scale assemblies, with an understanding of mechanical tolerances and tolerance analysis.<br></li> <li>Experience in estimating, mechanical design, operation, and commissioning of mission critical data center mechanical equipment.<br></li> <li>Expertise in the areas of design for medium-scale production, structural beams/elements, and international building codes, with knowledge of mechanical engineering and design principles.</li> </ul><h3>About the job</h3><p>Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.<br><br>With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul> <li>Provide expert technical support to data center services and operations teams, defining Mechanical system design requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to completion.</li> <li>Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs at the site level, starting from the basis of design through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations.</li> <li>Collaborate effectively with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to respond to site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between Google's requirements and the overall design.</li> <li>Work closely with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design (BOD) and coordinate system-level schematics with the EOR.</li> <li>Own and manage site-level power system issues during projects execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve challenges effectively.</li> </ul>
